Comfortable, but not perfect

I've been running with a size M grey pair of these for about 2 months, with a (measured) 32" waist. They're light and comfortable, and pretty much unnoticeable when running in typical conditions.

There are a few things that are a little off though:
- not sure what the tie string in the waistband is for - I've just about managed to get a knot into it, but I'm not sure what that actually achieves as it doesn't seem to make any difference to fit
- they ride up a little over the first quarter mile or so, I guess as my (Runderwear) merino boxers find their place. They don't seem to move after that, but can need manually moving back down 2 or 3 minutes into a run.
- they've got a bit of a funny shape in the genital area, in that they don't have any shape there - this means that they don't leave much to the imagination, and, in cold weather, don't give any air space between the end of your equipment and the shorts, which can result in the little chappy getting a chilly head, even through merino boxers. The shape of the shorts generally looks strange if you don't have a top covering the top half of them, due to the shapeless front.
- the size recommendation that Runderwear gives is definitely on the small side - they suggested an S for me, but I went for M, as I'm on the size guide boundary. I'm pretty sure an L would have been fine, if not better. This maybe depends on your upper leg circumference, but I definitely wouldn't want any smaller, and an L might have been adjustable in the waist using the seemingly-superfluous drawstring?!?

I would still certainly buy a second pair of these, even given the above minor faults, but they've been out of stock for months... when will they be back?!?

Thank you for your feedback this is greatly appreciated and will be passed on to team and product team. These have been a big hit so we are currently awaiting more stock which we are due to get at the beginning of the new year. Thank you for your patience and feedback.

Good, but....

Very comfortable and light, generally a pleasure to wear. The waistband, though, is effectively unworkable, and my black shorts are quickly losing their colour, fading to grey.

Thank you for your feedback, Great to hear that you find the Ultra Light shorts a pleasure to wear. These have been a great seller and a favourite for many, I will pass your feedback onto the team about the waistband!

Would love to love them

They are light and they feel great...
However there are 2 major flaws:
- the pocket is too small and the zip is in the middle rather than top of it, so stuff are bound to fail when you open it. You can stretch it to put an iPhone or an S20 in it but it's difficult and when you do the next problem come in play
- the elastic band design is a nightmare. It's impossible to adjust properly once you're wearing the short and if you try mid run the knot has become so tight, you risk breaking a nail undoing it. If not adjusted tight enough, it is too weak to handle any weight in the pocket without the shorts falling off your hips... Massive design flaw here...

Thank you for your feedback, We have chosen for the pocket to be this small as they are an ultra light short and a phone could weigh these down. The shorts will still fit a card key and gel inside. I will pass your feedback onto the product team about the Anti Loss Loop Waistband. Thank you for your purchases with Runderwear!

Great light shorts…but…

Five stars for the weight alone. Waistband is a curious one that’s difficult to microadjust, unlike traditional drawstring. I wish they came in a shorter length (even lighter!!!) like Nike Aeroswift which are still my go to shorts…could that change?!?

Thank you for your feedback this is greatly appreciated. Great to hear that you are loving how light the the Ultra Light Shorts feel! I will be sure to pass your feedback onto the product team, This is our first shorts launch so we will be taking all feedback on board!

Also curious how the waistband works?

Seem like good quality lightweight shorts. I bought them to wear over running tights, though I also bought some runderwear boxers which I'll review separately. You do need something underneath them as the material is very thin, mesh in parts. The back pocket has both a zip and a plastic carabiner hook to put keys on, this seems overkill for lightweight shorts - if the pocket is designed well you probably don't need either (e.g. Lululemon's Surge shorts). The waistband has a single piece of string going round which I'm curious what to do with - if there were two bits of string you could tie them together, but just one piece is odd? A small loop has been stitched into the waistband at the front, again it's not clear what this is for.

Thank you for your feedback this is appreciated. Great to hear that you love the quality of your Runderwear Shorts. These are ultra light shorts and the fabric being so light weight was picked for this reason for breathability. We found that most customers like to have a pocket for there key in so this is why we made the shorts to fit a card ,key and gel inside. The Anti loop waistband should be tied like you do a balloon in a loose knot, Some find that the shorts fit perfect without having to tie the waistband. Your feedback is appreciated and will be passed onto the team!
